Baile Hill Terrace, York

Our clients for this project, set just within the historic York city walls, were struggling for space in their existing galley kitchen. They wanted to increase the size of the kitchen, and bring daylight into the new kitchen, along with the attached dining room.

Our design solution was a simple lean-to extension. This small extension completely opened up the space in the kitchen to create a bright open plan space. Large electrically operated roof windows brought a large amount of light to the space.

Externally, a parapet wall and valley gutter was used for a tidy finish to the street side. The new wall facing into the yard was rendered in a light colour to maximise light in the small space.
