Huntriss Row
This property was a vacant retail unit at ground floor, with unused space above. The rear of the property, on the partly listed Falconer Square, was an untidy mix of extensions, not in keeping with the surroundings. The brief was to develop proposals comprising residential flats to the upper floors with retail retained on the ground floor.
The proposals involve a rear extension, inspired by the designs of the adjacent buildings, which presents an attractive elevation to the square. The ground floor retail is retained in a smaller format than previously. The remaining ground floor space and upper floors accommodates seven new 2 and 3 bedroom flats. One important element of the brief was the need to maximise floor space whilst also providing spacious and comfortable accommodation.
