Bradgate Road

The project brief was to demolish the existing 1970s dwelling, and create a new-build dwelling more in keeping with this leafy area of Altrincham, backing onto Dunham Forest Golf Course. The design would need to provide adequate landscaping, as well as generous accommodation and grand entertaining spaces.

The final design solution proposed the creation of a new 4+ bedroom dwelling of 2½ storeys. The design draws from the proportions and styles of Georgian dwellings, and uses traditional local materials and details. The footprint is designed to make good use of light from the afternoon and evening sun.

Internally, a key design feature is the large central hallway that extends the full height of the property, with stairs and gallery landings around the edges of the space.
