Carr Lane, Acomb
Our clients wanted to add an additional bedroom and a study to this 1930s semi-detached property. They also wanted to extend the existing small kitchen into a large kitchen and dining space for entertaining.
The design proposal was a two storey side extension, which sought to reflect the existing character of the house to the front of the property whilst adding a contemporary addition to the rear. The new open plan kitchen area has large fully opening bi-fold doors, which are set in an inset area of feature grey bricks. The first floor master bedroom retains a sloping vaulted ceiling which, combined with high level roof lights and a Juliet balcony create a light and airy space.
